Echocardiogram
An echocardiogram is a diagnostic imaging test that provides a detailed view of your heart’s structures, including chambers and valves. It can assess the heart’s functioning and overall health.
During the test, a high-frequency, inaudible sound is transmitted through the skin of your chest using a recorder (probe) placed on the chest wall. The device captures echoes of the sound waves as they bounce off various parts of your heart, creating an image of its internal structures.
It can help detect:
- Damage from a heart attack
- Heart failure
- Congenital heart disease
- Problems with the heart valves
- Cardiomyopathy
- Endocarditis
A comprehensive report detailing your test results will be provided to you at the conclusion of the assessment. If you wish to discuss your findings with a specialist, we can promptly schedule a consultation.
